Bayou Bound Books is an independent publishing brand born from Louisiana roots, Spanish moss, and stories that refuse to stay quiet. Founded in May 2025 by author and entrepreneur Isabelle McGee, soon to be Isabelle Herrscher, Bayou Bound Books exists for the readers and writers who feel more at home in a story than anywhere else.
About the Author
Isabelle McGee is a Louisiana born, Texas based indie author, publisher, and the founder of Bayou Bound Books. After years of balancing her passion for writing and storytelling alongside a career in bartending, Isabelle took the leap in May 2026 and left it all behind to pursue Bayou Bound Books as her full time career.
Her debut release Prompt To Grow is a guided journal designed to inspire self reflection and creative growth for readers and writers alike. Her second release Get Out Of The Swamp continues that journey of personal growth and southern storytelling. Her highly anticipated third title Chasing 25 is coming fall 2026.
Isabelle's writing is deeply rooted in southern gothic aesthetics, Louisiana soul, and the kind of raw unapologetic storytelling that gets under your skin and stays there. She believes that everyone has a story worth telling and that creativity has the power to transform lives.
In August 2026 Isabelle McGee will become Isabelle Herrscher — but her voice, her brand, and her bayou bound stories will remain exactly the same.
